Ayurveda New Zealand is hosting its Spring Cleanse Retreat at beautiful Parohe on Kawau Island from 23-26 November, offering guests an authentic Ayurvedic experience right on your doorstep in one of New Zealand's most beautiful locations.

Ayurveda, a sister science of yoga, is an ancient holistic healing system from India with a history of over 5,000 years. This four-day, three-night retreat features Ayurvedic treatments from trained and experienced Ayurveda practitioners, daily yoga sessions and dosha specific plant-based meals, prepared by reputed Little Bird chef Gawain Cowley.

All meals will be made following Ayurvedic cooking principles, incorporating seasonal and Dosha-specific elements. As part of the programme, an Ayurvedic cooking class, a cleansing workshop, and educational talks about Ayurveda topics will be offered.

Prior to the retreat, as part of the package, an individual Ayurvedic consultation will be scheduled with the retreat host Sarita Solvig Blankenburg, founder and director of Ayurveda New Zealand. Sarita is a qualified and certified Ayurvedic Medicine Practitioner (with a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) and yoga therapist who has run her Auckland clinic since 2010. She offers Ayurvedic consultations, yoga therapy, Panchakarma, workshops and her own certified organic product range Sattva Botanicals™.

The Ayurvedic consultation will give you the opportunity to address any health concerns and get your customised retreat programme which includes Ayurvedic medicine, treatments and your Dosha specific diet.

Relax during your spare time end enjoy the idyllic Parohe Island Retreat with native bush walks, paddleboarding, kayaking, sauna, an outdoor bath, or simply reading a book.

A range of beautiful boutique accommodation options are available, offering a variety of pricing packages for the retreat, including your own private room, a twin share, or a luxury lodging. Parohe Island Retreat offers a choice of 17 luxurious double rooms in various settings, including cabins, cabanas, the Villa, beach cabins, and the Honeymoon Cottage. Each room is equipped with a private bathroom for your comfort.

‘Parohe translates to a ‘relaxed, easygoing mood’, and that’s exactly how guests feel as they arrive at this natural oasis nestled in a private harbour on Kawau Island.

Parohe Island Retreat is available for exclusive venue hire, providing full access to land and water activities and wellness facilities. The retreat offers various conference spaces, indoor and outdoor socialising areas, and a fully equipped kitchen dining space, making it ideal for special events.
