Hingvastaka Churna is a mixture of eight powdered ayurvedic herbs. The Sanskrit name refers to its most potent ingredient Hing, also known as Asafoetida. This aromatic resin has a distinctive fragrance and often gets used in cooking as an alternative to onions or garlic, thanks to its strong flavour.
Hingvastaka Churna is a superb remedy for digestive disturbances that have a nervous component and are linked to an increased Vata. Symptoms such as bloating, flatulence and constipation get regulated by its downwards action (apana vayu). It helps to clear Ama (impurities) and pathogenic bacteria. By reducing mucus in the lungs, it clears the way for Prana (life force) to flow freely and can be included in formulas to treat Asthma, Bronchitis and shortness of breath.
Hingu (Ferula asafoetida), Shunti (Zingiber officinale), Black pepper (Piper nigrum), Pippali (Piper longum), Ajamoda (Apium graveolens), Saindhava (Soda chloride), Jiraka (Cuminum cyminum), Krisna jiraka (Nigella sativa).
Dosage: Adults take 1 teaspoon with a small amount of warm water twice daily 15 minutes before meal on an empty stomach preferably morning and evening.
Storage: Store in cool and dry place below 40 C out of direct sunlight.
