SPRING RESET - An Ayurveda Day Retreat at Kula Muriwai
SPRING RESET- An Ayurvedic Day Retreat
Cleanse • Release • Renew
10.00 am | Cleansing Yoga Practice
Your retreat begins the moment you step onto your yoga mat in Kula’s beautiful yoga shala, surrounded by expansive views across the rolling green hills towards the wild West Coast ocean.
Our morning Yoga practice will gently awaken and open the body, stimulate circulation and digestion, and encourage the movement and release of stagnation. Through mindful movement, breath and awareness, we begin the process of letting go and create space for something new, physically, mentally and energetically.
Take in the incredible landscape from your mat, breathe deeply and allow yourself to fully arrive.
11.00 am | Ayurvedic Welcome Drink & Opening Circle
Following Yoga, we gather over a nourishing Ayurvedic welcome drink for our opening circle. This is a chance to connect with one another, introduce the intention behind our Spring Reset and explore what cleansing can mean beyond simply changing what we eat.
Throughout the day, we will move through different layers of renewal, nourishing the physical body while also creating space to clear the mind, release emotions and reconnect with ourselves.
12.00 pm | Ayurveda & Panchakarma Spring Cleanse
Discover the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda and why Spring is traditionally such a beautiful time to cleanse, lighten and renew.
During this interactive talk, you will learn about your individual constitution, Agni or digestive fire, the accumulation of Ama or metabolic waste, and the Ayurvedic approach to seasonal cleansing.
We will also introduce you to Panchakarma, Ayurveda’s traditional system of deep cleansing and rejuvenation. You’ll gain an understanding of how a deeper Panchakarma journey works and experience some of the principles that underpin it, giving you a taste of how Ayurveda approaches cleansing on a physical, mental and emotional level.
Most importantly, you will leave with simple Ayurvedic practices and seasonal wisdom that you can incorporate into your own life at home.
1.00 pm | Ayurvedic Plant-Based Lunch Overlooking the West Coast
After our morning of movement and learning, it is time to nourish.
Enjoy a delicious, freshly prepared plant-based Ayurvedic lunch using seasonal ingredients, digestive spices and the principles of Ayurvedic cooking.
Weather permitting, we will gather outside on the lawn, overlooking the rolling countryside and spectacular West Coast. Slow down, enjoy beautiful food and good company, and experience one of Ayurveda’s simplest teachings: how we eat is just as important as what we eat.
2.00 pm | Qigong & Conscious Breathwork for Emotional Release
In the afternoon, our journey turns even more inward as we explore cleansing and release beyond the physical body.
Against the expansive backdrop of the hills and ocean, we begin with gentle Qigong, using flowing movement, breath and awareness to encourage the movement of energy through the body and prepare us for our breathwork practice.
We then move into guided Breathwork for Somatic Emotional Release, creating an opportunity to connect more deeply with yourself and release emotions, tension or patterns that may have been held within the body.
Honouring Ayurveda's holistic approach to cleansing body, mind and emotions, these complementary practices offer another pathway to deepen the process of release, create space within and support renewal on every level.
3.30 pm | Closing Circle & Integration
We finish our retreat together with a gentle closing circle, taking time to integrate the experiences of the day and reflect on what we would like to carry forward into the new season.
Pause, breathe, take in the landscape one last time and leave with a renewed sense of clarity, connection and inspiration.
4.00 pm | Retreat Concludes
Bring a friend, come with your partner, or treat yourself to a nourishing solo escape.
Set against the breathtaking landscape of Kula Muriwai, this is more than a day away from everyday life. It is an opportunity to experience cleansing in its many forms: through movement, Ayurvedic wisdom, nourishing food, breath, emotional release, connection and stillness.
A day to cleanse. A day to release. A day to renew.
Our Ayurvedic Day Retreat includes:

Conscious Breathwork
Explore guided breathing techniques to calm the mind, deepen body awareness and connect more consciously with your emotions. You’ll learn specific breathwork practices that prepare you for the Somatic Emotional Release session that follows, giving you tools to use with your breath as you journey more deeply inward.

Somatic Emotional Release
Create space to gently release emotions, tension and patterns that may be held within the body. Resting on your yoga mat, you’ll be guided through somatic practices, affirmations, music and sound, while applying the breathing techniques explored during the breathwork session. Kula Muriwai
Perched high on the clifftops of Muriwai, Kula is a beautiful purpose-built wellness and retreat venue surrounded by rolling green hills and expansive views across the wild West Coast and Tasman Sea. Just 45 minutes from central Auckland, it feels wonderfully removed from the pace of everyday life — a place to breathe deeply, slow down and reconnect with yourself and nature.
